No, he isn't better.
No, he isn't better. The guy is a joke in CF. He doesn't have a positive UZR in four years. He hasn't posted a non-negative number of DRS since 2008.Basically, Kemp should be playing LF or first base
so harper will finish higher in gg voting than kemp?
Probably not, due to innings.Gold Glove is a popularity contest.
I had a horrible, horrible dream last night that Harper got traded to the Red Sox. Luckily it was just a dream.
Yesterday was the first time we saw Harper live and it took one at bat before he made an impact (stretching the bloop hit into a double). His taking of home in the 7th on Zimmerman's hit had the crowd on its feet. He is "must see" baseball.
At cf, Kemp is better and doesn't have a reputation of being a petulant punk
Quickest Trot: Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals - 16.2 seconds [video]Yesterday, after Harper's two home run day in which he had a pair of nearly 20-second trots, I said: "He still owns two of the ten fastest trots of the year (including the single quickest non-inside-the-park home run trot), but that doesn't seem to be the norm anymore. How disappointing." I guess Harper must have been listening because, in the first inning of Thursday's game, the 19-year-old phenom hit a laser into the rightfield bullpen and then raced around the bases faster than he ever has before. His 16.2 second trot is now the fastest single trot of the year, putting Harper in the #1 and #2 (and #10) slots on the leaderboard. These are the trots we all want to see. Maybe we should just let him know that, in 2010, Adam Rosales had four regular tater trots faster than Harper's from last night. Four!
What the hell is Bryce Harper's new walk up music? It's usually his first at bat. It sounds like a freaking video game!
Yeah, sounds like weird clown music to me. Bring back Bad to the Bone! I liked that one. Or ask Werth for a song recommendation, he seems to have good taste.
Probably not, due to innings.
Charlie and Dave were getting into Werth's use of Led Zep's "Dazed and Confused".
Yeah I was listening to that game, I get it stuck in my head now thanks to Werth. I also enjoy that song that is basically someone strumming the guitar with the crowd shouting between each measure. Crowd gets into it.
If its by innings, then Harper will finish ahead of KempHarper: 962 Innings on the fieldKemp: 702 innings on the field
Harper’s defense boosts his candidacy for National League rookie of the year. Reds third baseman Todd Frazier has Harper beat on every major offensive count – average, on-base percentage, slugging, home runs and RBI. Frazier seems to be the frontrunner, and he’s absolutely worthy. But Harper’s defense gives him 3.0 wins above replacement by FanGraphs’ formula, compared to Frazier’s 2.9. It’s a dead heat, at least by that metric.
