Well, that isn't very good news.... smh

Not to be too pessimistic, but I feel like I've seen this show before....  :?

Ryan Zimmerman not in the Nats lineup, as he expected. Can't be a good sign for his inflamed right shoulder. DeRosa, 3 for 30, is batting 3.

Though if he expected to be in the lineup, I'm hoping it is just a precautionary thing.

Yeah.... If "not considered serious" means 60 day DL this time I'm gonna lose it!   :asplode:

Defensively this should be ... interesting....

DeRosa in right, Nady in Left, Werth in Center.  I like Lombo a lot, but his weakest position in the infield is third.

If Zimmerman and Morse miss most of the season I don't see how we make the playoffs.

If DeRosa and Nady are starters all season it is an unmitigated epic disaster....

Try to imagine how few runs we're going to score without Zim and Morse long term.... it will be very close to zero.

Not a good sign on Zimm's shoulder.

Sigh.

The OBP at the top of the lineup is a joke!!!!!  It would statistically make more sense to lead off with Laroche followed by Werth!!!!!

Obvioulsy no manager would put Laroche at the top, but Werth is reasonable.

acomak: Ryan Zimmerman said shoulder "still a little sore." It's not a structural shoulder issue, he stressed. AC joint issue, like a jammed finger.
acomak: Zimmerman felt "100 percent" when he tested it throwing but could feel it when he made contact hitting. He's day-to-day right now. #nats
acomak: Tough to put a timetable on things right now for Ryan Zimmerman. Asked if it'd be a DL situation he said, "I don't think it should be."

Wtf? I don't want Trump, Mr. I Can't Spell VP or the head of an international child moletation ring on my team. Can we trade for Regis, and Rather and Povich?

Don't complain. They have Dan Snyder. We win.

This Zimmerman business is making me nervous.

Don't know if this has been made aware of... but Steve Lombardozzi is getting the nod at third base tonight.

Jeez, I seem to remember somebody here asking what would happen if someone got injured and missed significant time.  All of the responses were - "but what about the 2017 budget?!?!?"

I just agreed with every word in a sportsfan post for the first time since his anti-Acta tirades.  2012 truly is a scary year.

This shoulder business happened when Zimmerman dove into homeplate, right?  If so, I remember thinking it wasn't smart at the time.  So the meager run production will become scanter, skimpier, sparer, sparser.  Take your pick. :bang:

That's true.  Even if it means taking a chubby this year, I'll suck it up.

Nats will placate PC.

Ryan Zimmerman will be sent for an MRI tonight in San Diego. The #nats expect the results later tonight. He's already had a clean X-ray.

Ryan Zimmerman will go for an MRI tonight on his shoulder, per Davey Johnson. Nats fear a strain. "I don't have a good feeling," Davey said.

Davey said the #nats fear Zimmerman's dealing w/ a strain that could keep him out at least a week. But hoping for the best.
