:? freak, we have to face arguably the two best pitchers in the NL for those two games too. Hamels on Wednesday and then Brandon Beachy on Sunday who has been incredible (1.33 ERA, 0.89 WHIP).

Really, it seems like the national networks are jumping on the Nats train pretty quickly while they are hot.  they get Harper, and they have a decent shot at getting a pitching phenom (Stras, Gio, JZ).

Baseball Tonight loves Ian Desmond. My favorite ESPN moment of the year was when they compared Andrew McCuthen's swing to Ian's.

ESPN is garbage and aside from a live event that I may be interested in, I have no use for them.

I hope we don't lose both Nationally televised games. We have to take advantage of this spotlight and win.

I admire your dedication to principle, but it just isn't that big of a deal to me.  Besides, I'm sure viewer numbers will play heavily into the MASN renegotiation process, so one might theorize that a massive fan boycott of MASN would actually hurt the Nats.

It isn't just a matter of principle (my home telly has never been tuned to MASN - I couldn't even tell you off the top of my head what channel it's on in my area; I have caught bits of it here and there in sports bars though)...but for any telly crew (however free of Angelos contamination they may be) to top Slowes and Jageler is rather a tall order, and I doubt that those lot on MASN would be up to it.

And as far as the MASN renegotations, in the long run those really won't matter...as long as Angelos owns the network, the Nats will never get a fair shake.

[In the interests of full disclosure I have a practical reason as well - my current telly is pretty much burnt out and not yielding much of a picture, and finding a replacement has been difficult - and all they seem to have at Best Buy, the only place within commuting distance of my residence (I don't drive), are those massive man-cave models that are too big for my flat and (more important) way too pricey for the amount of telly I watch.]

I like consuming baseball on radio while outdoors or driving (I guess on the fan police scale that places me somewhere between bandwagon and non-fan), but end up watching a lot of games on TV, and I think MASN blows- their HD quality isn't great - what the hell is with the MASN logo on either side of a standard sized box when a game is on MASN2 on fios?

Yes.

Only Sunday Night games/Fox Saturday National games are not covered by MASN.

HD quality on MASN 1 and 2 look fine to me on Comcast.  Better than ESPN and Fox, honestly.

I think with tonight's game the ESPN2 feed will be blocked out in MASN territory.  This isn't a "true" national game - the only ones where the national broadcasts preempts the local broadcast are the FOX games on Saturdays and ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.
