Let's take bets on how long until we give one of our SPs a win.

Tomorrow.

HRod only had recorded 1 out in the inning before. Who else would Davey have put in the 9th? Not Lidge without a lead. HRod just crap the bed plain and simple. Horrific leadoff walk and then a brain dead error.

My bad, I thought he started the inning.

8.2 IP and 7 ER from our two big SP acquisitions so far.

Pretty sure John Lannan could at least match that.  Just sayin'

2 IP, 6 ER, AAA. Just sayin'

there's no excuses for gio gonzalez whatsoever.  tonight edwin jackson has every beef in the world with that result.  he had strike 3 and sitting in dugout before that homer.

Lannan got rocked by AAA hitters yesterday. Gio and EJ both performed poorly but I think at some point they will have some good outings to go with the bad ones.

i was too but when we smoked the starter like we did and had all the momentum in the world ... we've dropped two in a row to two teams that are worse than us big time.
Should have knocked Pelfrey up and been up 4 or 5 to 0. Blown opportunity. And then the failure to tack on runs against Batista and Rauch were stunning.

Holy hell I'm so pissed.

The officiating in tonight's game was UNACCEPTABLE! - How can a multi billion dollar conglomerate hire such incompetent clowns? I can live with losing when you get beat straight up, but it's something else entirely to get whored by incompetent officials.

Ugh

My blood is boiling

Ray Knight nagging about that blown call at 2nd

That would have been the Nats fourth run which became pretty much irrelevant when the Mets scored their fourth in the ninth.  I couldn't tell if runner on second would have scored on the ball bobbled by Werth, but the way the Nats were playing I think it's safe to assume they would have also given up the fifth run and still lost.

no freaking way Mets should have won this game. But we suck at cashing in runners so I guess it was only a matter of time before we'd freak up pitching wise.

We have 5 runs easy if the ump doesn't totally blow the BLATANT call at 2nd base.

Storen's probably not in the game there.

True. Just referring to the fact that we'll see a lot of HRod late in games.

EJax wouldn't have been pulled after 5 IP for a PH though.

No way, that call on 2nd changed the ENTIRE game. Nats have 4 runs, most likely 5 easy. Pelfrey is out, we're into the Mets pen much earlier. Maybe HRod doesn't even pitch the 9th. Changed the ENTIRE game.

yeah but it still hurts derosa/bernadina were in the line-up.

morse needs to be activated now.  can't field another dogcrap line-up again.

Easily. After 2 innings pitched, Lannan's already given up 5 ER in the minors. ;)

This was a really frustrating loss. I still think the biggest problem was all the missed opportunities early. With a lineup like ours, you can't strand that many base-runners.

Just thinking of the umps is getting me bitter.

And why do we get the short game on Sunday that flies by and the brutal, dragging out game that results in a painful loss on the school night? Ugh.

someone in our organization should be complaining about the umps. horrible strikezone for the rookie ump. horrible call by the second base ump.

EJax pitched pretty well. Some ball calls were clearly strike, IE the fastball underneath neiwenwhatever's hands.

sure, but it's most likely not even relevant tonight. Not everyone in your line up is going to produce regardless.
