Hard to make a dog act, and even harder without having all the humane people up your ass with an army of lawyers.

Yea people who feel sick to their stomach watching a terrified dog be pushed into churning water so he can "act", can't have any of those around

:smh: it's not a hot take to not want to see animals tortured but forget it, not up for an animal abuse discussion in a movie thread.

The point was that I was not advocating anything of the sort and to read my words as such was borderline willful ignorance.  I thought the remark about White Fang would have made it clear that I was simply observing changes in society as it pertains to animal treatment on movie sets, but you proved me wrong.

Use CGI for those scenes. But the trailer kind of came off like... Polar Express or something.  Lady and the Tramp with better resolution.

Ha, perfect description.

Well. The wording read a little glib to be taken as a simple observation of societal changes.

Imagine if people treated each other as well as some people treat dogs.  Then you'll understand my glibness.

Skippy’s right. The tortures that animals were routinely put through for movies years ago is horrifying.  I’m always glad to see that disclaimer at the end of a movie that American Humane was on site and that no animals were harmed during the production.

I want to see the 2019 World Series Documentary Premiere at the Anthem Monday night.

Actually, just got my ticket, can't wait!    :woop:

Considering I missed games 2-7 working in Europe I have some catching up to do.

We enjoyed Ford vs. Ferrari a bunch. It was crazy that as loud as the engines were, the two dudes sitting next to us were still able to talk louder than the movie. A quick "Anytime you want to shut the freak up would be awesome" comment from me kept them quiet for the rest of the flick.

My brother started The Irishman this AM.  It is 3.5 hours long.  I watched about an hour and half.  It is amazing.

DeNiro was on Colbert, and he explained that Scorcese had Pesci and DeNiro go through scenes from Goodfellas so they could cue in the CGI to restore they could de-age them via CGI for the scenes over a 30 year period.  DeNiro looks a little stiff when he walks, but otherwise it is not noticeable.  Pacino has a good Hoffa, too.  apparently, Scorcese has had this one in the works for 15 or so years, and initially they were going to cast other actors as the younger major characters until they hit on the de-aging.
