He's envious of Tony Gwynn's physique.

:nono:

Just his voice.  Can someone explain why he sounds like he's from Texas?

Did he bust through the wall ala the Shockmaster? That's what I wanted him to do at the Gio press conference, complete with his Nats cap falling off and everything. :(

would have been great if he did the Don Muraco routine and ate a sandwich on his way to the microphone.

Prince Prince Prince. That was a rough interview on ESPN. The guy interviewing him gave him some tough questions. It was definitely all money for going to Detroit.

MLB Computers have 'randomly' selected Jose Bautista 12 times the past two years for random drug test. Heh.

Quote from: Rotoworld
Bob Mitchell of the Toronto Star reports Jose Bautista has been "randomly" drug tested an extraordinary number of times by Major League Baseball.

Bautista claims that he was drug tested 16 times over the past two seasons, compared to three times in 2008 and 2009. Per MLB rules, players face two mandatory tests (one in spring training and one during the season), and can be tested up to an additional two times. Random drug tests are also distributed, indicating a computer "randomly" chose Bautista at least eight times.

You wonder if the random selection is really some sort of program / formula that highlights unusual performance spikes as a criterion.  Something like [(% annual change xBH)/ |(% avg change in xBH for age]| ]* WTF > 150 trips a test, where 100 is normal.

Good to know he's clean... or at least he's using a really good masking agent.

Then it's not random.

Have they even started HGH testing yet?

Also, HGH testing won't even be done in season.

If it will help him start to hit for power, Desmond should drink it once a week.

Fitted on-field authentics only.  Growing up poor like I did, when I got my first authentic MLB hat (a Cubs hat) I always said I'd never wear anything else.

I guess wearing the fashion caps makes me a yuppie snob

Why bother with the farce? Oh right, the players' union.

I wanted targeted drug testing of guys like Bautista, but the union would never allow that.

Caps in colors and designs that never actually are used on the field, but are designed for looks.

Well your suspicions have been proven wrong about him.

Guys like FP were using during their playing days... does he pass the eye test for a typical steroid user?

Targeting people is a waste of time. Test them all randomly, not just the people you think deserve it.

I have one of those too.  It's pretty faded though, almost gray now.

This will likely be added to the collection in the near future.

Don't whine just because I criticized a player you slobber about. A power surge of that magnitude is a greater detriment to the game is drug-fueled than the Nook Logan's of the work barely hanging on to a job. If it is legit, and CURRENT TESTS (not blood) show that it is, bravo for him.

no athlete in sports passed as many drug tests as Lance Armstrong.
