•   The Cardinals have released Brian Broderick according to Derrick Goold of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (on Sulia). The 25-year-old right-hander posted a 7.32 ERA in 78 2/3 innings for the team's Triple-A affiliate. Broderick appeared in eleven games for the Nationals last year as a Rule 5 Draft pick.

I'm sure he'll be in Harrisburg in no time.

•   The Nationals signed Brian Broderick to a minor league deal and will assign him to their Double-A affiliate, tweets Geoff Morrow of the Harrisburg Patriot-News (hat tip:Amanda Comak). The 25-year-old was released by the Cardinals yesterday after recording a 7.32 ERA in 78 2/3 Triple-A innings. The Nats clearly believe in Broderick, as he was their Rule 5 Draft selection last year, though they ultimately returned him to St. Louis.

Because Kottaras is likely to be worse.  You are replacing a .195 AVG guy with a .209 guy, and the guy you are dropping can run and hits for more power.

I'm glad Norris is getting a chance to be the A's starting catcher. Good for him, good for the A's.

He turned in the wrong one which is why the crappy Rockies owned the Nats this year
