Tamoxifan.  Breast cancer drug that depresses estrogen.  He says he took it for a personal health issue but admits it was a mistake.

That's what Manny said too. It also suppresses man-boobs from roids. If he has breast cancer than God bless him and heal him, but if he's a cheater than I stand by what I said. If he had breast cancer, he should have reported it (maybe he was embarrassed, most men are and the stigma needs to be removed from that ailment).

you'd be b!tching about the Ks while the rest of the board would be having its customary AVG v OBP debate.

:lmao:  I didn't realize there were enough AVG enthusiasts on this board to prompt a debate or that we were voting for stat of the year. Personally, assuming I had to choose, neither of these make the cut anyway.

Ironically, Norris is not walking like he did in the minors.

Not striking out as much either. I think the A's are forcing him to swing earlier in the count.

1/3, BB, 2 K's, SB.

Now that's a typical Norris night.

You're right... it's not like he had 43 steals in the minors over his career. Or that he stole 13 bags in 2011.

A typical Norris day is 1/5 with a walk and 2B. I hope he does well, but his contact issues are a problem.

I've been a bit of a Bowden apologist over the years, but signing Dukes was one move I was always dead set against, now every time dude gets arrested the Nats get mentioned in the article.

Elijah Dukes was arrested today
Matthew Pouliot Jul 3, 2012, 6:18 PM EDT

Former major league outfielder Elijah Dukes, who has been in and out of trouble for most of his adult life, was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of driving either without a license or with one that was suspended. He was released four hours later.

The booking info suggests another comeback isn’t in the cards for the 28-year-old: he checked in at about 250 pounds on his 6-foot-2 frame.

Dukes looked like a rising young star with the Nationals in 2008, hitting .264/.386/.478 with 13 homers in 276 at-bats. Howver, he disappointed in 2009 and then got released prior to the start of the 2010 season. He later signed with the Newark Bears of the Atlantic League.

Today’s arrest was at least his second of 2012; he was found trying to eat a bag of marijuana back in February.

The trouble with Bowden was many of his moves left you wondering if they were motivated by lightning in the bottle or whiskey in the jar.

He was following The Plan which was to be accomplished via #1 draft picks.

His budget was to plan but I never had the impression Bowden wasn't even trying. I think Rizzo must have picked that one up from FLop.

to be fair to Jimbo, he was given a shoestring budget so he had to take chances. Plus his drafting was pretty good.

The Yankees released infielder Matt Antonelli, the team announced on its website. The Yankees claimed Antonelli from the Orioles in May then removed him from their roster to create space for Chad Qualls this past Sunday. Antonelli, a 27-year-old former first round pick, posted a .203/.333/.294 batting line in 172 plate appearances at Triple-A this year.

Kip Wells starts for SD today, I'm shocked that he's still in baseball.
