I'm finally starting to get really upset with this.  There has been so much time to set up a deal and if Boras is "saving face" and trying to get another bidder with the Rangers to up the cost, years especially, I really want to junk punch the guy.  I hope we don't overpay, <- Pfffffttt, haha, for him years wise.

6 or 7 and 25 a year. Any longer than that and let the Rangers DH him.  If he is smart, he will avoid the DH and play here.

What a fun season LaRoche has ahead of him, daily comments comparing him to Fielder and analysis of how we'd be a playoff team if we had upgraded his position.

Don't care.  He was a stopgap at best.

Source confirms #Rangers meeting with Prince Fielder, but suggests the first baseman is Plan B if Yu Darvish doesn't sign.

If Yu signs with Texas and the Nats don't get Fielder, shame on them.

Twitterverse is lighting up with Yankees speculation. If Montero goes to the M's in this supposed trade, that will lead way to the Yanks getting Prince. I don't know how Prince would feel about DHing and I also have no idea if the Yankees are willing to further exceed the cap.

I can't take another week of this, but if the Yanks take Tex and Fielder from us, I'm going to be royally ticked off.

The yanks are trying to stay under the luxury tax.  No way they sign Fielder unless a huge contract goes back IMO

Montero isn't going to the M's unless they let King Felix go.  I could see Pineda, but I'm doubtful. Or I'm just downright wrong.

This would eliminate the need to sign E-Jax, so money can be saved in that manner, because Pineda only has 1 year of service time and isn't eligible for arbitration until 2014.

Ha!  Get ready for two more years, in 2012 he'll play just good enough that we pick up his option, and then back to the 2011 version.

Well, the deal just went down... so the Yankees certainly have an open spot on their roster now.

This new Prince Fielder magical mystery tour to drum up business for Boras is pushing this Fielder thing into an entire new realm of absurd.

Could happen but doubt it personally.

This is good news at least. Boras asked for this meeting according to the Dallas Morning News' baseball columnist.

Quote
Boras and Fielder requested meeting with Rangers; still believed to be searching for 8 years or more. Would have to take fewer from Texas.

Still think he'll be a Nat by Thursday.

Just a gut feeling.

MLB is reporting Pineda for Montero is done.

This is looking really bad, you were right all along, we're going to sit back and wait for another year, hoping for bragging rights that come with 81 wins.

Maybe a trade partner for us to trade Morse for Gardner?

I just can't get over the fact that they paid Werth like he was a star but are balking at Fielder.

wow.....

Don't remember who said it... but the quote "The Nats have shown they will spend big bucks, as long as it's on the wrong player" sounds very appropriate right about now.
