Last time I tried, Gordon Biersch had a wait of 20 minutes for the bar and 45 minutes for a table.  This was around 6:00 before a Friday night game a couple of weeks ago.

the 8/29 game with the post-game Hagar concert shows a 7:05 start time, how likely is it that they move this up so the concert doesn't begin around 11 PM?

I'd guess pretty doubtful, TV is the driver of the start time and this is a week day game

What day?   I'M not in front of a calender.   The only issue would be Metro.

Hello, I'm new here. I'd like to watch a game from Red Porch or Red Loft, but am unsure about tickets. Am I correct that you can just buy any ticket to enter the stadium and then sit in the restaurant or bar for the duration (provided you're ordering)?  Or, are the Red Porch seats costing extra to sit outside? I want to have a few friends along, but since I don't know how seating works in that section, I'd like to find out before I go next week.  Thanks!

Sorry, me again. Meant to add....if there is another air-conditioned bar that would be good to watch the game from, I welcome recommendations, too. We have people who can't take too much of the heat, so I'm trying to find some options where they can hang out for the game's duration. If it's a 7pm game, is 5pm a good time to arrive? Thanks for your help...I appreciate the local knowledge.

if you can swing the cost, get seats with stars and stripes club access.

Another temporary tent bar has been approved for the Florida Rock site between the ballpark and the river. Why? Only a small percentage of fans park on that side of the stadium. Do we really need another crappy party zone? Why not use the space for parking? Great location and they'd make more money. Put in another small Rocklands stand if they want to sell food and beer.

Anyone with a ticket to the game can try to get a seat in the Red Porch restaurant or bar. If you are seated at a table on the Red Porch restaurant, they will tell you that you can stay for one hour...tip wisely, but not all of the wait staff is cooperative. The air conditioned seating does NOT have a good view of the ball park, but DOES have lots of televisions on a 2 second delay. Seating at the Red Porch bar is very limited, in large part because the bar won't make you leave.
The Red Loft is not air conditioned.
I'd recommend starting in your seats and then moving over to the restaurant/bar after about the 4th inning when the crowd dies down a bit.

It's the same as the winter fan fest with a much smaller crowd.

I've only driven to a game once, and at the time it seemed like there were empty lots all over the place to the north of the yards.  Granted it was during the First Dark Age (like 2010 or 11), but it was a weekend game against the barves (and a "Bark in the Park" IIRC).  It didn't strike me as though there was a great scarcity of parking at the time.

Drive to a game against the Os, Yanks, or Red Sox and get shut out of parking and you'll see the need.  Last year they ran out of parking for a weekday game against the Mets.  It's rare, but nothing sucks more than driving to a game and having no parking available.

Another reason to want the Florida Rock site turned into a parking lot is proximity to the ballpark, it's a lot nicer to walk across the street than down 4-6 blocks from the outer lots or the hotel.  Adding a huge supply of spaces would also help keep the prices in check, it's getting ridiculously expensive to park around there.

How often/early does the lot across from the home plate gate by the cement plant fill up?  I'm thinking about using it for a couple of games during the next homestand, but I won't be able to get there until very close to game start time.  Thanks in advance.

That lot was not operating on Friday or Saturday.  We were told that they'd lost their license. There's a new lot about a block west of that one on R Street, but they hiked their price up to $30 on Saturday given the sudden loss of competition from the cement plant lot.

How does a parking lot lose its license? If I own private property I need a license to charge people to park?

I'd bet a grand that the team had something to do with this, they want us to use their over priced lots. I'd bet five grand in it.

Businesses needs to have a license from the District in order to operate their business. I think we'll know more if they are reopened on the next homestand.

Yeah, a business needs a license, I just can't imagine how a parking lot can manage to get their's revoked.

Not paying for the proper permits would be one way.  I have a small LLC on the side with trivial annual revenue that I use to manage a rental property and even that requires the regular tribute to caesar.

Can somebody come up with a black helicopter gif? I need to save the keystrokes when replying to pb's paranoid posts.
