Oh dear baseball Jesus ... Please let the Orioles give up something good. Lol, trading back for a player you traded at the deadline ....

Lmao .... Angelos is crashing that team in to a mountain .....

hahaha Also, I think Baltimore needs more than a top shelf reliever

Buster Olney tweets:  Year after year, it's the Orioles who are left to pick at the carcass of the offseason, after every other team is finished feeding. Amazing.

He doesn't seem to like the O's.

Can you blame him?  What's going on in Baltimore is a sad, sad, sad tale of woe.  My wife and I still love going to games there and the team has some good players, but that whole organization is a mess.  When you let Buck Showalter be on the GM hiring committee you know things are bad.

Didn't he used to cover them for the Sun?

2 random thoughts from reading MLBTR:

1) Orioles have a top prospect named LJ Hoes. We must obtain him

2) Remember Johan Santana? Muck the Fets.

Hammel has a good K rate (well in 2010, at least). A challenge deal for both.

Johnson could be on the move with the addition of another back end arm, as well.

The O's are turrible.  Who starts for them Opening Day?  Guthrie is a good pitcher.  Trading him for two lesser stop-gap types doesn't make sense to me.

Probably Britton. Chen will probably end up being their best starter, though.

The deal is a good deal for the Os.  Guthrie was getting expensive and frankly was not all that effective.  Hammel had a good year in 2009 when he lost out to Niemann in the rotation and was dealt to Colorado.  Also was good in 2010.  Saved $3.5MM and get an extra year or two of team control.  Lindstrom is a nice depth piece.

They probably could have gotten more at the deadline last year or even at the deadline this year.  Maybe I'm overvaluing Guthrie and undervaluing Hammel, but I think Guthrie is significantly better.

The O's rotation was in shambles before this trade and they traded the only guy who could be relied on in any way.  All they got was a lesser version of what they already had and a very replaceable bullpen piece.  So they saved $4 mil - good for Angelos.

The birds are falling apart. At what point do stubborn DC orioles fans defect and become Nats fans? I will laugh at them because they had every opportunity to jump in on the ground floor and refused to do it out misguided loyalty.

Kershaw signs for 2 yrs and 19 mil for his first two arbitration years.  Could have Strasburg implications.  I don't think he will be a Super 2 like Lincecum.

I wonder if that's what Ravens fans are saying about you.
