Strikeout pitchers in the Nats bullpen with more than 10 IP all year:

Clippard - 10.8 k/9
H- Rod - 9.44
Bally - 8.66
Storen - 8.57
Gorz - 8.24

No other over 7.  So, who you gonna call?

Among call ups, Stammen is 10.8 in 5 IP, but can he warm up mid inning?  Severino?  anyone mention him before the fact?

Where the hell is S37 when I need him

I'm not even sure what you mean by that, but I'm surprised you even know who S37 is.

BTW, Slaten wasn't bad today.  He induced 2 weak grounders.  That's about all you can ask of him.  Sometimes they just go where the defense isn't.

don't read this as me saying he's been good this year or I want him back, but he wasn't bad today.

And, perhaps, Clippard wasn't properly warmed up as Slaten only lasted two batters.  Who would have been ready in that time?

Remember the Mariners game when League left the game?

Then why didn't Davey leave him in long enough for Clippard to get properly warmed up?

You'll have to take that up with Davey.

Go dig up my thread on the Nats considering trading Clippard and trading for Bourn

He kept trying to imply that I wanted to trade Clippard for Bourn. I didn't, but I was open to the idea of trading Clippard.

Whoever you called, it might have been a good idea to let them warm up properly.

Look, if you want to blame that he didn't get a chance to warm up enough, fine.

But the truth is that Clippard gives up a lot home runs.

Doug Slaten gives up lots of hits, hard and soft.  The manager should expect it.

That's fine, but if you tell me that  he's going to get the first two guys he faces to roll two grounders not hit all that sharply, I take it.  Every time.

There you go again: expressing a measurable series of events in numbers.  Stupid stats.

So predictable. The Nats are terrible.

Fly ball pitchers give up homeruns.  I'm still not getting your point.
