I think the biggest difference between Marrero and Espinosa/Desmond is that he was well seasoned in the minors. I think both Espi and Desmond were brought up prematurely and that's why they are struggling at the plate.

Another hit for Marrero

I think Marrero is winning a regular place next season. I think Morse is a better fielder at 1B, and many players are better OFs than Morse, but how could you keep Marrero on the bench next year? (if he keeps this up.)

You're really making that assessment after less than a month?  Plus Desmond was in the minors for a long long time.

Rain and thunder around Dulles.

Radar looks like the storm is headed towards Baltimore.

Yeah, but he was only in Triple A for a very brief period of time.

Going to be interesting. We'll see how Laroche comes back. That, to me, is going to the be the teller. Laroche struggles, Marrero should get PT. Laroche should have a quick hook too.

But Desmond sucks

He didn't have a pitch count limit.

And if he did... you can't keep pulling him around 50 pitches, he'll never build up endurance.

I though Davey said no pitch-limit. Turned on the game just Strasb pulled.

Why?

Any semi-official reason from the announcers?

Why are these announcers talking surprise that Lee has more than 80 RBIs with "only" 15 HR????

The cat threw up on my remote and my mute button didn't work for about 2 days. I had never heard most of the audio to commercials showing during the game. I was looking for an ice pick to stick in my ears after that one. Thank goodness the remote dried out.

We could have it worse: At Wrigley they used to play the Luna jingle over the PA every time a Cubs player hit a double.
