To take Desmond's spot?

Heading into today

AVG
Espinosa - .233
Desmond - .242

OBP
Espinosa - .320
Desmond - .289

SLG
Espinosa - .414
Desmond - .345

UZR
Espinosa - 2.4
Desmond - -2.3

WAR
Espinosa - 3.2
Desmond - 0.8

Desmond is baseball dumb. He can throw, he can hit hard, he can range well, and he plays bad baseball. If the situation calls for Desmond to wait patiently against a wild hard-thrower, he will try to pull the ball. Hit to right? Nope. (Kilgore: "Desmond carries himself just like Derek Jeter. If he just hit 60 points higher and played consistent SS, why, Desmond would be like Jeter".

Think of Espinosa yesterday diving into first...pure hustle exactly when the team looked like it needed some spark. Espy looks baseball smart. Move him to SS, Lombo to 2B, and Desmond is a good-enough utility IF.

"It's a deep drive"   ... ?

Yep. If you can't tell a home run after 300 games in the same seat it's time to go

:lmao: The drive wasn't even close.   :$$$:  You win! But since our owners are cheap all you get for winning is a bag of rice.

The Nats strike out at an alarming rate so I don't know why that's funny. I wish our team was 3 games above .500 instead of 10 games under.

I meant the drive wasn't even close to being a home run. It was a flyout by Werth.

Oh, I didn't see it and thought you may have been referring to my not being close on the guess.   So, I got it right?   AND  I won the prize.   Oh day-um.

OT kind of:

Washington Post shows work beginning on the Kincora project in Loudoun.   It will be the area where the future home of the Loudoun Hounds will be.

I keep thinking today is Sunday when it's actually Monday and a new series. No wonder the Nats are scoring. They're using up their weekly quota of runs in the first game like they did last week against the Braves.

Ha!! You need to hear John Sterling, Yankees radio: "It is high! IT IS DEEP!!! IT IS caught at the warning track..." Sterling is the ultimate huckleberry, to borrow from Phil Rizutto

Bob Wolff, the Nats first TV announcer, would say, "There's a long fly ball to deep right center...it's going...going...gone!" Which gave him a chance to de-celerate his voice before "going...going" is the ball was short.

BUT who cares when Ankiel hits one like that!!
