Gomes just plain LOOKS like he's a mean tough veteran. The look he gave Lidge as he took off the elbow guard after being hit. Ha! And it looked like the Fillies catcher took a nick from the pitch...maybe got his foot. Hurt worse than Gomes.

Oh, and nifty single by Werth. Loved the thumb-up from Pudge to Werth, and Pudge's expression.

Totally agree on Gomes.  Danny is a young guy and I wasn't too surprised to see him overly aggressive and K in that situation.  But I was pretty confident Gomes would get it done.  He's a pro.

I need to go to the movies on Sunday more often. Went downtown to see Senna, got home right as the game resumed.

I'm not superstitious, I just know what's lucky and unlucky.

I haven't been this happy since Osama Bin Laden died.
And, it sounds like they're closing in on Gadhafi and have his son in captivity.

So, someone there tell us how the visitors are behaving now.

Behaving sadly. So sad. So pitiful. A tear comes to my eye, almost.

Still undefeated (barely) when I start a GDT...
No need for qualifiers.  Just count up the W's and the L's.

Outstanding win.  Great job by all.  I was hoping Werth could bring home the winning run but that hit must have felt good.  What an amazing and improbable homer by Desmond, too!

I'm very happy the Philthy fans go home sad today.  So happy for our guys.  What a win!

They should pull over every tour bus with PA plates and give every last one of 'em a breathalizer test.  LOL!

The Taiwanese fans, here to root for Wang, come through for the Nationals again!!

Attendance for the series was 780 SHORT of breaking the 2009 record set with the visiting Red Sox.

Gmoes didn't even flinch.  He should throw some balls at Bixler in the clubhouse to get him used to the feeling

Damn right, THAT's how to take a hit by pitch.  Way to man-up, Jonny.

from ESPN: "The game-winning HBP to Jonny Gomes was the third one in the majors this season. All have been in extra innings. However, it's only the second time the franchise has "walked off" via HBP. The other was when Rodney Scott was plunked by the Braves' Eddie Solomon in the 9th inning... on August 17, 1979."

On the Desmond homer, love the big guy in the Strasburg jersey going nuts alone in a sea of Philthies, in the section the ball landed in.
