Why players love maple bats I have no idea.  No telling how much velocity is lost on contact when the bats break. 

Well, a lot - it's like the crumple zone in a car, except it sucks.

No one wants that bum. I truly can't believe he's this bad. What happened from last season to this season?

Why can't he hit anymore? He used to be a professional hitter in Philly. Now he just looks lost.

I could offer two reasons:

1) lower NPV (Net Present Value)
2) escalates in later years when club expects to be more competitive, and will be generating higher revenues as a result.  Thus, higher expenses will match with greater revenues.
