Outside of Alexandria, Vienna's one of the gems of Northern Virginia. Unless you find the Vienna Inn to be a little too scruffy for your yuppified tastes.

Actually, CC to Vienna on the Metro is about 30 minutes. I hope to the d00d I don't believe in I get this gig with the cool folks in L'Enfant though. Talk about livin' the life o' reilly.

I'm all in favor of living close to work, if possible. It seems my entire career has been one nag-ass commute after another. Always a good reason, but still.

We only lose our power when transformers blow. None of this weather-related tsouris. If you live in Crystal Square, Crystal Plaza, or I think some of the Crystal Gateway apartments, you can do the underground thing and get to L'Enfant without a jacket.

As for JCA, I have a much cooler baseball-related name I'd use, but The Chief does not like changing names, London-Nat.

I did get asked by two older d00ds (50s-ish) there if I liked DC United and if I liked rugby. It was only after they walked past me that I noticed they were wearing Provincetown Bear Week 2011 shirts...

Pretty much. I would say anyone that shops at Crate&Barrel and the Apple store, has an advanced degree, is some kind of "knowledge worker", reads Slate or Metafilter and follows soccer but that would almost describe me.
