Twins wanted way too much and I'm not high on Upton. If we end up staying pat in CF when all is said and done, that's fine.

I'd be surprised if the Yakima Water Buffalos have an interest in Burnett.

The Nationals would be smart to pull Storen out of any deal for Span.

I already posted one that questioned the trade, and there's another that questions it.

It is not a unified opinion that it is a great trade.

I wanted us to get a CFer, just not at the expense of losing Storen

Sure, we all wanted Stairs dealt for one.  A good one.

In a way I'm happy we're going to keep Storen, but I'm also extremely disappointed that we have to watch this team as is for the rest of the season.

It's also mind boggling that we sent Bernie down and didn't trade him.  Losing support for Rizzo by the day.

We will.  It just probably won't be at the deadline, which is fine.  That stat they had at the beginning of the game needs to change.  27 CFs in, what, the past 6 seasons is way too many...

From that article:

The Angels need a reliever, and a Todd Coffey or Sean Burnett-led package could sway them to part with Peter Bourjos.  That might be a stretch, but the Nats could get creative.

:lmao:

I feel bad for Roger Bernadina.  He's played his heart out for us, especially while making some incredible hustle plays in CF, and the GM just hates him.  It's got to be tough for him to keep going up and down between D.C. and Syracuse.  After this season I hope he finds a team that actually wants him, and I really hope it's not in the NL East because the Shark is going to be a very good ballplayer.

Good!  :woop:  Span is overrated and Storen will be a great closer for us for years to come.

A week of teasing leads to us going home to Rick Ankiel at the end of the night.

That's what sickens me - but less than if we gave up Storen.

Actually that's not a very controversial statement I made.  Even Rizzo's biggest supporters around here will likely admit that he clearly can't stand Bernadina.

Sucks like no other . Rizzo acquired no Major League pieces at the deadline. Awful

I'm not an unabashed Rizzo supporter and I don't see anyone can draw that conclusion.

It seems like Bernadina is the logical choice to keep sending to the minors since he's the one who can be sent without having to DFA him.  Sorry for trying to make sense.
