Aggressive move by the Indians.  Impressive -- I did not think Jimenez was heading there.

Not a finalized deal yet . . .

Yes, when Denard Span is batting .160 next season and can't find his way home without written instructions, we'll ALL be so happy to have our CF of the future.

Furcal approves trade to Cardinals.  Guess we're hanging onto Desmond.

Not that there was much doubt, but Furcal approving deal to #Cardinals, source says. #tradedeadline #MLB

This trade deadline seems to be one of the most active in a long time.
I never expected Ubaldo to get traded

I guess the Rockies will have to nix those ads where Ubaldo is buying chachkas at some gift shop.

Ah, but consummating this trade is the only way to save the entire country from an eruption of the Yellowstone caldera, also scheduled for next year.

Your move.

That is the only thing I'm afraid of, him sucking ass here or being injury prone. He might pull a Nyjer Morgan on us. :?

I really don't know. If only we didn't have to give up Drew I wouldn't mind nearly as much. That's a big piece to part with for a player that you don't for sure what you are getting.

Yes, but trades come in a bit after that.
Also keep in mind that the non-waiver deadline is only one aspect...trades can and will happen through the waiver wire.

I would trade ANY Nationals minor leaguer other than Harper for Span before I'd trade Storen because none of them are as good.  For the love of God, he's 23, already a good closer and he's under team control for as far as the eye can see.  >:(

And you're thinking about trading him for a 28 year old, not under team control for much longer and is recovering from a brain injury!

I tend to agree. I would trade one of the likes of Norris, Moore, Marrero, etc before I would give up Drew. But then again the Twins probably don't make that deal.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Span is under contract for the next FOUR seasons after this. Idiot.

Yes, you are correct. He's signed through his arbitration but that's not the technical definition of "team control" but you're right, at least not what I meant.  But you're right.
