Then you are crazy. Because any of the CFs being discussed (Bourn, Span, Upton) will be of far more help to us making the playoffs next year than will Clippard and Shark.

If we can get any of those guys w/o giving up Storen, we should do it. If we get Span straight up for Storen, we should do it.

Bourn and Span are worth set up men. Not a very good closer.

Id part with Clippard for either, but I can't imagine Houston would want Clippard, so that doesn't really match up for Bourn.

We should be ok in terms of set up men next year. Matheus is pitching really well, and Kimball should return. Rodriguez is up and down, but he's had some good games and should continue to develop. We could bring in a veteran in the off season.

This is a steal for us. A good reliever and a backup OF for a solid starting position player is a trade that needs to made. We can sign antoher good reliever and backup OF after the season. Starters are much harder to get. I don't think there even are any starting caliber CF free agents after the season.

No, there aren't; DeJesus has collapsed this year for some reason. The other free agent CF is Coco Crisp.

I'm still not sure why Rizzo is so detirmined to get Span. Looking at the Pence deal, we could get Bourn for a couple minor leaguers and keep Clippard.

With the question marks in the rotation, this year, (Strasburg, Zimnn, Wang, Milone and Peacock) would it be wise to keep Marquis until the waiver wire deadline and do a deal then? If Wang gets reinjured, Stras is not ready, JZimnn is shutdown, Milone and Peacock are not 'rushed', then we are very thin at SP.

Robbing? Ill admit the Astros didn't get as much as they could, but they got two Top 50 prospects and a possible number 4 starter.

Komaysu sounds like a leadoff hitter to me

Yeah I actually think that the Astros "won" that deal. They got two top 50 prospects for Pence, who while I love him, is pretty overrated. He's good, but he's never gonna be a star.

The Astros got a lot for Pence. Those guys are the 2 top Astros prospects instantly. If we traded the same package it would be Peacock and Norris, plus filler.
