Would anyone be down for:

Peacock/Milone and Norris/Marrero for Bourn

There's a lot of range in that.  Millone/Marrero may not get Bourn.  Peacock/Norris is too much for my taste.

Peacock is a top 50 I believe. Norris ... well, he's got so much potential. And I personally think he'll end up at first anyways.

Peacock and Marrero?  I don''t mind giving up Marrero if we get something good in return. Only thing I don't like is that Bourn is a free agent in 2013.

No thanks. For me, it's Span, Bourjos or bust right now.

So apparently there's something to the noise on the Pence-to-Philadelphia front.

Ken Rosenthal: Sources: #Phillies close to acquiring #Astros' Pence. Deal expected to be completed tonight. #tradedeadline #MLB

Source: #Astros will get Singleton, Cosart and 2 players to be named from #Phillies for Pence. PTBN not major prospects #tradedeadline #MLB

We can't trade those guys for Span. They don't need first baseman. Nor do the Angels. We'd have to part with a reliever at least. I was trying to work up a trade that let's us keep our closer and setup guy.

They're giving up at least two of their top 4 prospects in their system.

Cosart and Singleton were either one and two or close to it in most rankings of Phillies prospects entering this year and the Phillies have a pretty well regarded system.  I'm not sure I'd want to do better than that.

What is on their trade block that we could want?  Are the Cardinals dumb enough to take Desmond?

Singleton looks like a good prospect but what's so great about Cosart?  Here is his career thus far - http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker&utm_campaign=Linker&id=cosart001jar

And Singleton is still probably 3 years away if he makes it at all.

He's in a strikeout contest with BJ Upton and Adam Dunn :D

We can only pray that Tony La Rusa has decided that Shelby Miller doesn't hustle enough.

Is that possible with Desmond?  I don't think he's much better than what he's shown us.
