Werth is contributing absolutely nothing to this baseball team. 0/5 today, BA down to .213. Looks worse than first half.

When you are a predominantly flyball pitcher, you will give up homeruns sometimes.  Nothing surprising about that.  If Gorzo had done his job on the basepaths we would be going into the ninth with a lead.

Or Desmond.

Werth to DL with broken swing.

Werth has had so many chances recently to redeem himself and come up with a big hit and he has failed every time. Anti-clutch.

Making Rizzo look like a moron.

At least he put the ball in play. better than a strikeout ....

I'm through hating on Werth. He is what he is. I just hope for damage controll whenever he comes up to bat

I realize he pitched yesterday but I might keep Clipp in for another out or two.

Sigh. I know it's "in" to hate on the guy, but you can see he's nervous up there.

Nix should bat before Werth.  Werth is killing this team and always seems to appear with the game on the line.

Oh dear, using Mattheus here?  Seems unwise.

He's got 126 million reasons not to be nervous up there.

For a guy that was so good with Phillies and used to the pressure I can't believe it has come to this. He has no confidence, where is that Phillies swagger? He is a fraud. Looks scared and is not producing at all.

Mattheus pitching in unfamiliar territory. This could be a quick ending.

I think Mattheus has done relatively well actually.

Mattheus has done fairly well but he has command problems from time to time.

You can't walk Brooks Conrad on 5 pitches. You can't do it

I think Mattheus has done relatively well so far actually.
He's pitched way over his peripherals in a relatively small sample size.  I don't really trust him in a delicate situation like this.  I'd rather we kept Clipp in for another out or two.

Why isn't Storen pitching with the game in the balance? I don't get it.

I imagine Davey wants to use him for two innings, which he can't with the pitcher's spot coming up without double-switching someone else out.

Just get it over with nice and quick. Prado is a monster.

Mattheus can't walk the lead-off guy and expect good results.
