How many catching clinics have you attended?  His plate blocking skills were and still are ATROCIOUS and that's a huge, immeasurable part of pitcher confidence.

His arm has been dynamite, but his catching skills always were average, at best.

I've attended zero catchers clinics, but that doesn't mean my opinion is invalid. How many MLB games have you caught? I'm not trying to start a pissing contest with you, I just disagree with you. Agree to disagree.

I think this organization has been fair with the way they've handled Desmond - this year is his shot and he's not taking advantage.

Where is Dingleberg Slaptiback's support of Desmond?

4th   W Ramos homered to center.   3   2

Rocky's      3
Nationals  2

Great job Ramos!!

Ramos is a better hitter, I'll give you that but how many plays at the plate have seen that that Pudge would have made as opposed to Ramos? I think Ramos is going to be a good one, but he's got a loooooong way to go before he'll be mentioned in the same breath as Pudge in any area. The future does look very bright for him though and he may well eventually be mentioned in the same breath as Pudge.

While I've never caught MLB games, I've caught guys who have pitched professionally and I've attended clinics taught by ex-professional catchers.  Pudge lacks the fundamentals taught in some little-leagues around the country.  He relied on his arm to get him through and it worked.  That's all casual fans care about - numbers.  The CS numbers over his career are the best in the game - but his collective catcher skillset lacks basic fundamentals.

You can disagree with me if you want, but I see what I see and I've played the position for nearly 20 years (albeit not as a professional).
