I read a recent column that said that Davey Johnson gives preference to players who can bat over defensive skills.  The writer speculated that Ian Desmond would be gone, in favor of a minor leaguer with a hot bat.

Whether Stairs is still on this team after the All Star break will tell me a lot about the Johnson-Rizzo relationship... and whether they're BOTH morons...
