Nice deal for Royce.  He's just hanging on to the end of his career, but maybe the Jays will make the end exciting for him.

Seriously, I liked Royce, so it is at least good to see a hardworking guy get a deal (even though his clutch hitting rating is so low.  :)

Yeah, Royce was a professional, a hard working, decent guy.  I don't blame him for his end of career decline, given he's always put such effort into conditioning.  It happens.  At this point his fielding is overrated, since he's lost range that seems to not be valued sufficiently.  Plus his bat is anemic at best, and "least clutch" at worst (as you so aptly recall).
