Contrary to your thought, pulling Clippard now makes him readily available tomorrow if the game is tight, which it is likely to be.

I just checked and I have a 3:00 p.m. meeting tomorrow.

Wow.  Storen just might be worth that #10 overall pick, huh?

That might've been the nastiest pitch of the night... I want to see a replay of that.

That pitch looked almost like a cutter that had a little sink.

Fair enough... but what if we used Clippard one inning tomorrow, then Storen for two innings instead?  I do understand where he's coming from, but when a guy is clearly rolling like Clipp was and makes very few pitches you have to consider it.

I don't disagree with you from a strategy standpoint, but before each game they lay out the expected roles for each player, and if Storen is designated to close, it makes sense to not deviate from the plan in the absence of compelling factors to the contrary.

It becomes as much a management decision as a baseball decision.

But the game's a 1:05 start so I'll miss the end of the game.

I almost wonder whether the unwillingness Riggleman has to give Clipp save opportunites has anything to do with this being his first year of arbitration... saves = cash usually.

Holy Storen.

Holy crap-balls.  It's late June and we're at .500.  Nats park sounds like a playoff venue.

I think I have a boner.
