Good luck Mikie - would have been nice to have you on the Nats.

I like Norris if we go an arm. Henry Owens is my guy. I'd love to see him in a Nat uni.

Purke is worth the gamble Imo.

Still like Bell no matter what is said. Kids smart but if you pay him, he'll sign.
I like Owens but whenever I see a big lanky LH HS pitcher I have nightmares of Graham Hicks :lmao:

Yeah Hicks passed through my mind as well, but there's a difference. Hicks was what, a third or fourth rounder that was kind of an unknown.

Owens has been a borderline first rounder all year long, and mentioned as a first rounder as a junior. He's played for team USA and has been around the top circuits.

To me, he's a young Barry Zito. Already sits in the low 90's and has gotten up to 94. At 6'5 190(tops) he's got even more in the tank. Even if he doesn't grow, his velocity is enough to be a mid rotation starter. Pick up another tick or two, and he's a front line guy.

What was the book they were using at the Rangers table? Have they never heard of a laptop?

the draft is becoming to Nats fans what the free agent signing period is to Skins fans.  So far this has been a great night, Zimmerman looked great in Potomac, Harper went yard again, and we got Rendon.  Now we just need Morse, Werth and Espinosa to go yard en-route to a Nats victory in SFO tonight!

Goodwin's been a guy we've been connected to. Could be a guy here.

He's a year younger than someone like Mahtook or Bradley, but I think he's got better tools. I wouldn't mind seeing him, although there's a few guys that make sense.

A couple of the above mentioned arms. Larry Greene is another guy we've been linked to. Dwight Smith, but he's a question mark it seems like.

Not a fan of Hedges. Not sold on the bat AND is a huge college commit. He's not the type of guy you'd want to overpay for to bring aboard.

Really don't see why we'd draft a Catcher this early. We have A. Nieto, D. Frietas, S. Leon, J. Solano, J. Flores, D. Norris all in the minors.

I am so thankful for Joe Torre, more now, then ever before.

Nieto was suspended for PED's.
