We've rarely been able to have long win streaks because we've always had Yunesky Maya or an equivalent starting games for us.  The longest possible win streak we can have is three games because Maya starts on Wednesday. despite really consistent starting pitching this year, we have not been able to score runs on a consistent basis, such as getting shut out for 5 Livan starts.

Fixed.

Not sure if serious. I don't like Nyjer (anymore), but Florida were acting like a bunch of spoiled brats, dictating that Morgan shouldn't steal after they bean him intentionally. They threw at him twice, obviously intentionally. I might not have charged the mound in his shoes, but it wasn't unwarranted.

After that, it was clearly a brawl with both benches clearing.

http://washington.nationals.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=11615635

The benches clear, but they aren't really fighting with each other. After Morgan gets clotheslined, no one really starts fighting, most people are trying to stop the fight (although Pat Listach gets in there). My point was that that was basically Morgan fighting, the rest of them weren't really fighting so I don't really consider it a brawl.

You don't get much more brawl in MLB than what we saw that night.

It was a stage 3 brawl.  The StL/Cincy throwdown last year was a stage 5er.

I just listened to the 11th inning on the archived Arizona radio broadcast and their announcers must have mentioned (and blamed the loss on) the "blown call" at first base (where Bernadina was called safe) at least eight times.

They also said that when a blown call happens like that that you still have to buckle down and make the pitches and they didn't.

I guess they conveniently forgot about intentionally plunking Espi and getting their reliever ejected so that Ramos could come up and crush one with two men on.

I invented a beverage that I've dubbed the 'Marquis Sinker.'  I'll tell you what's gonna happen: I'm gonna go drink one down and the Nats are gonna win this game.

Do tell what's in this magical concoction.

They can't blame the walks in the 11th to Werth and Ankiel on the umpire.

Many of Dunn's, I'm sure.  He hit one even higher up the wall in AZ last year.

It's 407 feet to straightaway center there.  The stupid yellow line is 25 feet high, and he hit a good 5-10 feet above that line.  No telling how that one would go if that dumb wall wasn't there...

That thing was a rocket.  Knew it when he it it.  I thought it would keep climbing.

The one Dunn hit in Atlanta last year comes to mind.

That's the longest HR in Nationals history according to Hit Tracker's HR distance database.

Absolutely. Zimmerman hit one high into the upper deck at RFK. Dunn also had a few monster shots at Nationals Park last year.

cool site - Morse's bomb on 5/23 is the longest this year, but today's shot isn't listed yet.

Hopefully MLBN does it justice.
Ha!  Quick Pitch on MLB Network just teased this game's highlights before going to commercial with "Would the Diamondbacks come back to sweep the Nats?"  No love from MLBN...

And after watching the recap on Quick Pitch, I got my first good slow-mo look at the play in the 11th where Bernadina was called safe at first.  We really did get a big break there.  It was close, but the throw barely beat him.  If he's out, Werth, Ankiel and Morse don't bat that inning...
