The throw was headed towards the plate until it got cutoff. Can't really blame him too much for that. Most runners will try to take 2nd in that case. The Phillies just made a heads up play when they realized they had no play at the plate.

I've noticed before. Pudge is a pretty fast runner ...for a pudgy old catcher. Really, he's faster than you'd think he be. He can motor.
