Wow, this inning is starting the same way the last inning started.

I wonder if pitchers hit in the league Maya used to be in.

Totally unrelated to today's game but does anyone know when we've ever worn this hat:

A great inning by Maya. 3 Ks, 1 hit, 38 pitches in 3 innings.

Why do I consider this a high-scoring game?

MLB Shop lists them as '36-'37 and '48-'51 era Senators hats.  I like 'em.

What's strange is that it's a New Era hat (most of the other ones I've seen are made by American Needle) and is one of the newer hats since it's made of the dry fit nonsense MLB switched over to around 2008.  It's a great hat and great find at the team store, just not sure when we've ever worn them on the field in DC.

I couldn't believe that nonsense either.

Well, this is where we find out if Yunesky Maya can recover from a mistake or not. 2010 Maya couldn't.

Maybe a throwback game at some point?

They use the DH in Cuban, Dominican, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Venezuelan and Mexican leagues.

I like how there's this burst of posts when the Padres look like they're going to tie the game but then when Maya (and some dumb Padre play) gets out of the jam, nobody says anything.

I think he was trying to say that Morse has done more this week than most batters do in a half month?  Not really sure, though.
