At least we can be thankful that we didn't go into the season with him penciled in as our #1 guy. He's a 4-5 who give you a 4.5 ish ERA most years. He is what he is.
Except besides last year he never had a 4.5ish ERA.
He had a sub-4.00 ERA in both 2009 and 2008 pitching the whole season in each. Pretty remarkable, wish we could get that Lannan back. He was a good pitcher back then. Threw strikes, got a ton of groundballs, pitched into the 7th a lot.
