There seems to be no passion, no enthusiasm for playing a bad pitcher.  They should have come out of the box, ready to score 8 instead it looks like they've never picked up a baseball bat in their lives.

What about Livo?

He's had a few years of moderate success with the Nats so I try to give him a little break but I would prefer we had neither of the likes of Hernandez, Gorzelanny, Lannan or Detwiler on the roster. I'm talking from an ideal point of view. I laugh at the "solid fifth starter" mentality. Those are virtually a dime a dozen. 5th starters are pitchers you'd rather skip in your rotation and you have them because you have no choice to have them. All the ones we discussed are at best 5th starters except for Detwiler who is ideally a 4th starter for your AAA club. I like Strasburg and Zimmermann.

I think they just werent ready to play. I think that mentally they resigned themselves to thinking this game wouldnt be played.

I don't even think we look tired. We just seem like we don't give a crap.

In fairness to Gorzelanny, he's kept us in the game but the putrid offense is MIA again.
