How long can the team carry LaRoche and Espinosa? They field, but ouch.

Polo Grounds:

(Image removed from quote.)

That's CF. Griffith Stadium was 407 on the left field line most seasons. Calcin Griffith began to build the bleachers in after he discovered that fans loved to see Roy Sievers hits HR. Old Yankee Stadium always had a huge CF and LF, short RF.

In fact, Griffith usually had the fewest HRs of any park in the AL , or both leagues. Something like 20 or 30 years in a row.

Two years and many years. Espi will be fine.

Marquis' ERA at 3.31
Pitch count at 70

He could start the eighth inning if he doesn't bomb.

See http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/american/griffi.htm

Note the changes in dimensions...many seasons it was about 420 to CF with a 30 foot concrete wall. Take a look at the weird shape of CF: built around a couple of row-houses.

Great AB for Werth. He seems to be seeing the ball better lately

Nice to see Werth getting hits in this series. Maybe he's turning it around (slowly).

Werth is bizarre. He can look utterly lost one game, then locked in the next day, then lost the day after that.

Bautista with 2 more HR's today.

Up to 15 already.

Wow, looks like another monster year for him.

Can LaRoche and Pudge bring home another run?

But I think we can agree that he always hustles and gives 100%.  As he should with that type of salary.

You have to do more with that type of salary. Hustle and giving 100% is mandatory regardless of what you make.

I think yesterday was mostly due to his career suckitude vs. Sanchez

LaRoche with one of his best swings in quite a while, just happened to be hit right to the right fielder.

I was thinking more of the 0-8 before yesterday with all the Ks.

One of my favorite sports stories. Currently hitting .366/.520/.848. Christ.

Yeah, I like his game. Hopefully his bat heats up more.

He's going to have to do a lot of bad to pass Manny on my list.
