Marquis just looks in-charge on the hill. Lannan still looks worried and troubled.

But Lannan played well enough to win yesterday.  At last through 6.
We've won with Marquis and Zimmermann on the hill but lost with Lannan.  Starting to clear up? :couch:

When does our contract with MASN run out?

I think it's close to never. I'm pretty sure we have a bad 25 years left with MASN.

Lannan is 2-2 easily could be 3-1

I think Lannan is 2-3. And Marquis is 3-0, with an ERA under 3.

Lannan is pitching well. I think Marquis has been nearly dominant.

Lannan is 2-2 easily could be 3-1

Well if/when the contract with MASN expires, what channel would probably pick them up? Would be nice if it was DC50 as I actually get it in HD. I only get "over the air" HD channels right now. Don't have digital cable.

I watched most of this game, and I liked what I saw. The Giants have no offense.

Neither do the nats.  But the giants found a way to win the WS last year.

It's all about pitching and defense, folks.

Surely relevant: the Nationals have yet to commit an error in this series.

That said, I'm not as optimistic as you are, Strasburg37. Since I don't expect the pitching and defense to be as good as this all year, but also don't expect the offense to be as bad as this all year, I gotta figure that Zimmerman's return will be the difference between winning 76 games and winning 78 games.

Except that Zimmerman was top 5 in WAR last year and Alex Cora is a -WAR player.  So mathematically your expectations are very low for Zim.

7 WAR in '10 and '09. Over a little over half a season, 4 WAR. So yeah maybe my expectations are half what they ought to be.

Now factor in Cora's -WAR and try not to overlook that ~5 games difference is a pretty big swing for ONE player.

I think the folks on MLB Network Radio just recently said that the Giants even making it to the WS last year was largely due to the end-of-season 10-game losing streak by the Padres.  The Giants went 5-5 during that time, but still, they did come through when it counted.

Desmond played sparking defense today. I'd like to see him at 3B while Zim is gone.

Except for the double play grounder that he booted, still got an out at first, so, no error. But most definitely botched up a DP ball.

If you say so. I don't know how you tell.

NAILED HIM!!! On a change-up too!

In case anyone was wondering: these posts were written while the helicopters were arriving at Osama bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad.

Well, maybe third base is for him, because after he bailed out Hairston he threw a dart right to LaRoche and almost got the out.
