Walk him and go to the pitcher?  Don't tempt fate.

Gorz is HR prone. He always seems to make at least a few critical mistakes in every start

So far disaster avoided

Yup, zero offense from the Nats and Gorz will give up a few eventually

Charlie brought up Desmond's fielding with Rizzo as the inning ended, but they plan to pick it up after the break...

Rizzo on the radio broadcast. Says Desmond is back tomorrow and no decision on who goes.

Figures...they come back, and they've been talking about Gorzellany and Gaudin, with nothing about Desmond.

Rizzo is stuttering and saying Ian and Shortstop so many times it makes me wonder if he is lying.

Rizzo feels that Ian will be "an exceptional shortstop, both offensively and defensively" but acknowledges that he needs to get more consistent with his defense.

And we lose the game.
