FG ranks Morales really really low.

Their top prospect guy Eric Longenhagen really does not like his swing. He wrote in his most recent evaluation of Morales that the only reason he included him at all was on the chance he manages to rework his swing entirely.

yes, and they ranked Millas really high in 2024. So, it's not the gospel, but it is nice to have another take rather than someone who just follows the herd.

To be fair even with that high ranking for Millas he still only projected him as a major league quality backup catcher, which I don't think he's played himself out of the conversation of being yet. But agreed with the general sentiment of him not being gospel.

Is it worth locking Millas' and Lara's FTPs? Not sure how long either will stay up in the bigs.

at this point, does Millas have enough service time to lose rookie status? If yes, then he's "not a prospect ". In general, locking while guys are up has been the MO except for 27th men, paternity leave replacements, and other guys likely to be returned in a week.

I don’t think Lara is short term given the deadline stripping of the bullpen.

that's nice K:BB. Still less than a K per inning, but > 1.95 BB/9 is nice. Ian's new favorite pitching prospect.

Via Andrew Flax:
Quote
1B/LF Sam Brown (acquired for Luis Garcia and Andrew Chafin) went 2-for-3 last night with a double, a homer, and a walk. In the Nats org, he's now hitting .385/.459/.596. He has two homers in 14 games after hitting just 5 in 92 games with the Angels.

Brown is currently assigned to Harrisburg.

DeBartolo is knocking it out of the park with the guys he traded for and the later round draft picks.  These guys know how to hit with power or walk.

milb.com updated its top-30 for us with Hassell no longer a prospect. Everyone below him moves up a slot, and Beeter enters at 30 until he loses prospect status.

Minor update to the mlb.com top 30: Beeter is no longer a prospect, Sir Jameson Jones checks in at #30.

Cavalli should be off the prospect list soon as well.

In case anyone is anticipating the last flurry of prospect stats updates I've been posting every month (maybe a bit presumptuous of me) I'm a bit busy with work and then going on a trip this weekend, plus with the season over there's less of a rush to get prospect updates out before new games make the stats outdated, so might be a bit before I post the final season updates.

I personally greatly appreciate the updates. Since it's offseason, I won't be checking 90% of the prospects for a few months, so no rush.

mlb top-30 is updated. Cavalli graduates, everyone below him moves up a spot, and Pickney returns to the top-30 at #30.
