interesting to compare the FG rankings of the Nats system depth from before 2024 to now after the 2025 deadline deals.
In 2024, we had the elite duo of Wood (65) and Crews (60), 2 50s (Cavalli, House), 4 45s (Hurtado, Sykora, Millas, Vacquero), 6 45+, and 11 40s. 25 ranked 40 or better. add in 8 35+, that's 33 ranked by FG.
Now, we have 1 55 (susana), 2 50s (Willits, Sykora), 1 45+ (House), 8 45s, 10 40+, and 13 40s. 35 ranked 40 or better, but no one comparable to Wood or Crews. 14 35+, so 49 ranked right now by FG.
Lots more depth. If you look at who succeeds as kind of random after the elite, there's a heck of a lot more lottery tickets now. Also, as a bit of a caution about who to expect to succeed, looking at the top of the 2024 list, Cavalli is down to a 45, Hurtado and Vacquero to a 40+. Wood, Millas and Crews have graduated, Susana has popped way up, and Sykora is now our injured 50.
