I like his delivery, he just doesn't have the changeup under control today.

If his bat stays hot, he'll get ROY votes.

He's gotta fight Ramos for them.

nice.

i have to imagine when it's cold and you haven't pitched in forever (plus it's early in the year), getting your best changeup grip is the most difficult of all pitches.

speaking of beachballs, did Jason Bergmann retire?  His BR page says "final game" and doesn't have any stats for 2011 in the majors or the minors.

His contract was voided, he signed with the Sawx but he had a pre-existing injury. Ouch . . .

Aside from the walk and the jack, he's having a pretty good game so far.  Stupid ump :mg:

gorzelanny at 44 pitches after two innings.  he may be lucky to make it through 5.

Stupid ump. If Gameday is even close to accurate, those are some bad strike calls.

Why does he ID keep taking strike 3 down the middle? All fastballs too. He's looking for the wrong thing

gorzelanny at 44 pitches after two innings.  he may be lucky to make it through 5.

Given that Gorzelanny came from a team where the pitching coach believed in actually burning the pitchers' arms and not part of our stable of babies on pitch counts, I would hope Riggleman won't feel the need to treat him like Mark Prior. Of course, at this point, I'd be happy just to see the starter not get yanked due to performance.
