Syracuse went up against Kyle Gibson recently and I think they hit him pretty well.

Norris and Ray could crack the bottom 1/4 as well. Maybe even Purke if he signs and has the chance to show he's healthy.

Yep I think going into next year we'll have atleast 5 top 100 prospects(Harper, Rendon, Peacock, Norris, Meyer) and here are some borderline guys we have Lombardozzi, Cole, D. Hood(if he does well in the AFL this year he'll get a ton of love on lists this summer). While Ray is doing well I doubt he makes top 100 he doesn't have the projectability that Cole has and Prospect rankers love.

It makes zero sense to move Gorzo to the pen. You don't put someone who's consistently demonstrated the ability to start in the bullpen just because he's lefthanded.

Gorzy has experience in the pen - he swung between the pen and the rotation in Chicago. It's not 'just because he's left handed.'

Not saying it's the best option but it is an option - especially when we have guys in the minors who look like they might be better than Gorzelanny as starters.

I don't care what anybody say. AJ Cole is a better prospect than Jameson Taillon. Before this year ends, Cole will be in HighA and start 2012 in AA. I'm so happy we drafted him and got him signed. When Peacock gets to the majors, Cole will have the minor league stage all to himself(unless Alex Meyer hit the ground running). The future's so bright, you'll have to wear shades at night and party to that song "I wear my sunglasses at night".

people are still sleeping on cole. it's funny. i think he's going to be an all-star.

I definitely think Cole may be undervalued by some.

In my mind... this is the Top 5 in our system in terms of pitching

1. Peacock
2. Cole
3. Ray
4. Milone (Only because he's not really a "prospect")
5. Solis
6. Estevez (Personal favorite)

If they sign Meyer and Purke... that's a great foundation to build off of.

Yeah. People were saying that Cole wasn't on Taillon level, but he is. And I think Cole has more projectability left than Taillon being he's 6'6 and already 225lb(if he gets any bigger, it might not be good for him). And Cole is a couple months younger and could add 25lb to 6'4 frame which would add a couple mph on his already plus fastball.

I don't know if Cole is that good, but he is money. I think he'll be a top 25 prospect in time.

I'm actually a big Cole fan. Just think expectations need to be kept in check.

Cole's having a fantastic start to his career. But he's not going to start next year in AA. He might get a start or 2 in Potomac this year, but he'll spend most of next year there as well.

Question is, who's our Minor League Pitcher of the Year? Probably Peacock because of the K's and being at a higher level, but Ray's had a great year and if Cole keeps this up, he'll be right in the mix as well.

And for a second straight year, speculation has been rampant that the condition of Potomac's ballpark influenced the big league affiliate's decision.

Longtime Potomac owner Art Silber has a solution for that problem. After years of unsuccessful attempts to work out a deal with local officials for a new ballpark, the Carolina League franchise is ready to unveil plans for a new, privately financed facility in a prime Northern Virginia location.

Silber said the team will hold a press conference around the end of July, and he declined to offer many details on the project until then. He did confirm that, unlike previous failed projects, no public money will be involved. The stadium will remain in Prince William County, and the team has been working with local officials to expedite acquiring the necessary permits.
Silber expects the new ballpark to be ready in time for the 2013 season.

"We are hopeful that within the next 30 days we are going to have a press conference with some renderings on a new ballpark and location," said Silber, a retired commercial banking CEO who described the project's financing as "very do-able." "It's been a joint effort between ourselves and a developer. We couldn't have picked a better location."
