Thats surprising, considering they have one of the best lineups of all of our affiliates. I wonder how much that has to do with them being on the road for almost a month straight due to the field conditions at Potomac. Hopefully a few days of home cooking will set them straight.

Tyler Moore goes 3/4 with a Single, Double, Triple, 4 RBIs, 2 Runs.

BA up to .275

Ryan Mattheus struck out 2 in 1.1 innings and picked up the win. Lowered his ERA to 0.75 in the process.

tyler moore has really been heating up. hit a double (7th) and GW triple (3rd) today, average up to .275.

Gotta like what David Freitas is doing in Hagerstown.

.286/.402/.468 in 77 ABs with 14 BBs to 8 Ks! I'm curious to how his defense rates. He has thrown out 33% of runners so far this season.

lol harper is third youngest player in league ... amazing.

we could always trade marquis and call up peacock. i like meyers, but i think peacock may have better stuff. then again i haven't seen a lot of either to make that call.

Neither is on the 40 man. I imagine the Nats would likely call up Det, Maya, Stammen, etc. etc. before they added either to the 40 man.

I mean, Detwiler and Maya are at the front of the line. Detwiler had looked good in the spring; not so much now, but he has time to work on it, and Maya is definitely showing control of the AAA level. There's no reason not to give those guys their shots first, while Peacock/Meyers season, because if we skip over the first guys in line, we'll call up Peacock/Meyers, see them struggle a bit, and then label them AAAA too, and the cycle will continue.

I agree in this instance.

I just meant in general, as with Bally and Kimball, he kept RP's with no options over guys that were probably more talented.

I mean, if the choice is (a) keep the less talented guys and hope you can trade them or (b) cut the less talented guys, and lose some games but some depth, I choose (b). Probably we'll never get a major leaguer out of a guy like Todd Coffey, which makes it seem really useless, but then again Joe Beimel may yet get us a solid reliever in Ryan Mattheus.

Any love for Nats LHP Danny Rosenbaum?

36.1 IP 26 H 8 ER 1 HR 16 BB 29 K (1-1, 1.98 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) in Potomac.

Last year he had a 2.25 ERA in 144 innings between Hagerstown and Potomac.

This kid can pitch. Next in the mold of Lannan/Milone types I believe. He throws a little harder though from what I have heard.

I wonder if he'll be on the same schedule as last year, with a bump up a level around 2/3 of the season? It's probably a good guess that there will be some rearranging of the minors rotations around the 2d half of July as guys like Marquis, Livan, Coffey, or maybe some others get moved at the trade deadlines.

Awesome start for Ray. Anyone know the whereabouts of Rick Hague? He went on the 7 day Injured list about 3 weeks ago it seems.
