Martis should win the Nationals' Minor League Pitcher of the Year, this season. He's been outstanding.
He's getting called up.
No he shouldn't. Peacock's got him beat easily. More K's, ERA lower by half a run, and he's spent part of the year at AAA. It's a pretty easy decision. It has been a very good year for Martis though. I can't believe he's still only 24 years old.
Hopefully, tyler gets the promotion to AAA tomorrow.
Yup, people forget how young Martis still is. Has a killer changeup
When was the last time you saw him?
I really want to punch Ollie. He has massive diamond studs in both ears.Martis is much fatter in person than I was expecting.
Dump him in the offseason and watch him become a #5 SP elsewhereHe has dominated AA.
SF i remember what martis was like in the majors and quite frankly i don't want to see that again.
1. That was two years ago2. He's only 24 and appears to have learned something new this year (compare stats to last year)3. He was a solid major-league starter for about a month before crumbling
to each his own. i say stay away.
Yeah, there's no way he could possibly improve. Ceiling met.
i'm not saying he can't improve, i just remember what i saw. he's tearing up AA, good for him and the organization. i just don't see him having a future here and i think we have better arms. sorry.
irrational post is irrational.
That's not what I'm saying, and you know it. You are saying that what he does in AA is essentially irrelevant because he did poorly more than two years ago as a 22 year old.
how hard is it for you to understand i just don't think he has what it takes to make it in the bigs. just leave it at that. i'm not rooting against him or anything. he'll probably get another look in another organization.
Where did I suggest that you were rooting against him? Maybe you subconsciously feel the need to defend yourself of that though. You don't think he has "what it takes" based on what? What you are saying is that he doesn't have "what it takes" based on what you saw him do two years ago.
Yeah but you have bad evidence for thinking that. If you were at Harrisburg last week and his stuff was bad, then I would be more inclined to believe you. But the numbers suggest that he's just plain pitching better.
i've seen his stuff, i just don't think it's that good. and his makeup was awful back then, but obviously it must be getting better. all i'm saying is he's stored away in AA behind some of our other prospects who - in my opinion - are better than martis.
Your opinion is changing now. At first it was:And now it's that he would block other arms. Granted, there are better prospects in the system. Yet you now stray from your original rationale that what you saw in the majors two years ago is what you will see if he comes up again.
