Good to see that guaranteed starting spot to Nyjer is going to work out real well for us.

Nyjer has photos of somebody. They really need to have someone else who is a candidate for the leadoff spot play that role in ST, not just have guys do it that won't be on the 25-man after ST. It's sickening that they think they don't have any other players who can fill the role. That's unbelievably idiotic. The role of a leadoff hitter is to get on base, period. So pretty much anyone else that doesn't suck would be better.

Stammen's never really been consistent or gotten his crap together mentally, so I don't expect much from him. If he can get into a groove at some point and take a bullpen spot, I'd be happy. He's a great athlete with some good sinking action, so you hope for the best. But given the number of other arms we have in the pen, he's not essential.

Just put Desmond or Bernie at leadoff and see what they can do.  Maybe we can play Morse, Bernie and Werth at the same time, then.

Both of those guys are obvious candidates. Of course Desmond is moreso since Bernadina's roster spot and role are in question.
