Surprised no love here for the comet Neowise, we caught a nice few couple of nights back. We have trees all around but it was squarely in the middle of a slot where we could see it.

Went to the backwoods of Santa Rosa County tonight to see it, no luck at all

So far I’ve been unsuccessful, but it may have been too low, and then last night I didn’t get outside to look. If worst comes to worst, maybe I can spot it next Saturday night when we go to the Inn at Little Washington. The sky is a lot darker out there.

From what I have read it will become more noticeable in the south as the month goes on.

i went out around 11:30 to try and spot it but the sky was too bright and there are too many trees where I live.

I have binoculars but my weather guy tonight said it’s going to get dimmer for us, the next few days are really our last good chance to see it

#$&* big-arse cloud blocking where the comet should be tonight, but Jupiter and Saturn are extremely bright to the south, very easy to see even with the naked eye without my eyeglasses.

Just watched the launch of a South Korean satellite from here in Orlando. Got to see about 2 minutes before it disappeared behind a cloud. Pretty impressed with how large it looked considering we are about 40 miles away from cape canaveral. Saw on the web them landing the first rage rocket on one of their ships a few minutes later.

The first stage used today was the same one they used for the manned launch earlier this year.

Ok, thanks. I know they recaptured than one also but didn't know this was the same one.

I believe those two astronauts are due back sometime in August.

I believe the tentative plan is to undock on August 1 and splash down the next day, but I don’t know where.

Got great views of Neowise Saturday night. Drove to the local middle school which sits high on a hill overlooking farmland, so we had no tree interference. We got there around 9:30. We have decent 7x50 binoculars and were able to see it clearly. A few other folks were there for the same reason, but had lower strength binoculars and were having a more difficult time seeing it. The view got better as the night went on, though seeing it with the naked eye was still difficult.
