No crew in it, right?

No. But a big setback to the program.

This is some rather dated background on my father's flight into earth's orbit...5 years in the making now...

Presently scheduled for June 22nd, from Cape Canaveral via a USAF mission Falcon Heavy rocket.  Fitting, as dad was in the Army-Air Force in the 1940's...

Celestis, the organizer, predicts the platform will remain in orbit for the next 20 to 25 years.  Maybe I'll re-join him there some day...

Wish us luck...we will both be there for the launch.  As a matter of fact, he arrived at the Cape, along with 151 other souls, yesterday...

I was sittin' here thinking about Timothy Leary.     :)       Have you been to the A and S at Dulles recently (I guess that part goes to the Rolling Thunder thread)?

I stopped by one day (with my niece and son visiting the air craft) to pass my regards.     I still got the info around here somewhere.      Probably with my keys.     :)

Doesn’t look to be visible by naked eye but I assume there will be some on line stuff from the telescopes.

My father's Celestis launch is now scheduled between 11:30pm on June 24th and 3:30am on June 25th.

Here's a look at the payload handling on the Falcon Heavy.  There will be 24 various payloads handled on this Air Force Space Test Program-2 mission.

We got back from Hawaii yesterday and I leave for Florida tomorrow evening...finger's crossed that the launch window holds...

I read about it in a history book.    Let me make sure I got this right  ....   the actual pre-launch show starts Monday night with the scheduled launch at 2330.
