Yes. If he develops (and Zimmerman re-signs, that's not a certainty at this point, lol) you move him to another position or another team in a trade.

Would you skip him, only to watch Zimmerman skip town to be A-Rod's heir, while we have no heir apparent at 3B?

Too many uncertainties in baseball. Best player available.

That's the debate for the Pirates this year.  They just had Alvarez come up at 3B but many consider Rendon to be the best player in the draft.  Do they still go with him or do they take Purke/Cole if their scouts grade them out as being no more than a very minute notch below Rendon?

Using the old 20-80 grading scale, if you're Pittsburgh and you grade Rendon at say 78 while Purke comes in a 76 and Cole at 75, do you take one of the pitchers?  It's not a strict BPA pick but it's also not a strict position of need pick.
