Fascinating move by the Rays. It seems more and more like there are Boras teams, and everyone else. Luckily the Nats fall in the right category considering the talent he represents. But not only signing both Manny and Damon, but on the same day? Awesome move. And further, signing two Type A/B players, both of whom don't need compensatory picks because they weren't offered arbitration? By the team that has a hundred first round picks already? The Rays really seem like a team that knows what it's doing and how to build. Getting all their picks that they've accumulated, and then signing these two players of their talent level without having to even give up a single pick out of luck? The Rays are really going to be a fearsome beast not only in the future if just a handful of these picks amount to anything, but the club they've put together now isn't too shabby either. This team should be the model for all average payroll clubs. Just a stellar FO.
