On another negative note, gogo Manny Acta's Indians!!! 32 Runs and 41 hits given up by the Indians. In their entire week plus of ST, you may ponder? No, in their last two, TWO, games. As bad as it may be at times to have Jimmy Riggleman as our manager, it could be worse. Between the Cavaliers and the Indians, it must hurt to be a Cleveland sports fan. We certainly know enough about being a bad sports town, but the 2011 Indians look like they might be *really* bad right now. You've gotta feel bad for Manny. He's a truly awesome guy, one of the nicest, most decent human beings on the planet. But my god that man cannot manage in the Major League's to save his life. 32 Runs and 41 Hits in two games. Ouch.

I'd rather a six week injury occur now, when the games don't count than in August in the middle of a pennant race.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure about that considering where Greinke is right now. Obviously, look, he's missing the majority of the time when the games don't count, so that's an irrefutable fact. But likewise, he's on a brand new team in a brand new league. I think missing 80% of Spring Training might have an impact on his entire season. Missing six weeks in the middle of the season, you just miss six weeks. This might have an impact on all 30 or so games he pitches. If he were just a returning player, of course. And you're right, logically games in the middle of August versus four weeks where the games don't even count isn't remotely comparable. But I just wonder the impact a young, admitted less than mentally stable guy like Greinke missing most of Spring Training, getting adjust to a new league, new team, and new teammates, will have when he's thrust into games that count in the middle or April.

they could win a lot of 2-1 games this year, that offense has a lot of question marks.

Brendan Donnelly - the one and only - has decided to retire.
Lost his enthusiasm for the game.  He said he no longer gets juiced up when he comes in.

The Padres are looking for a utility man. AlGo would be a good fit.

So Manny Acta's Indians get hammered again, 9-2,10 hits against. In their last three games, that means they have given up 41 Runs and 51 hits. Dear god, I bet plenty of teams haven't given up 41 runs in 10+ ST games all year so far. It's amazing to sit back and feel blessed out that Jim Riggleman is our manager. I wonder what the Vegas odds or Manny making it to the end of September are right now. Can't be too good.

Anyone catch the Os /Sox game on MLB Network last night?  I was amazed at how much time Jerry Remy spent talking about David Ortiz's salsa partner's anatomy. I admit I watched through the 5th just to see "dancing with the new stars."  Great job by Ryan Lavarnway.

Red Sox have ~27 year old Cuban outfielder who will play in AA/ AAA who looks terrific.  Great bat and can run a bit, and play CF with a bat that can play at the corners.  Juan Carlos Linares.  Nice trade chit.  They want to start him in the minors, but he could make Darnell McDonald quite expendable.  Righty bats.

Garza gets hammered, Greinke gets hurt.  Cliff Lee better be careful - Rizzo doesn't like to be shunned.

XM MLB Network is talking as if they think it's a lock that Utley is out for the year/career with this knee thing.

Said they don't want to alarm anyone... but Utley very well may never play 2B again. Move to LF possible.

Still awaiting word on all the test... but based on speculation, they said it's likely he's out for the year.
