Thank you to those of you who did help me out by voting for me. Unfortunately, I was slaughtered in the voting, finishing 9th place with 4% of the vote. The winner got 41% of the vote for his story about taking his small children to their first MLB game in Atlanta.
To those of you who lambasted me for choosing a Phillies moment as my favorite sports memory, or those who did not vote for me because it was a Phillies moment, I have to take exception to that. First of all, some of you seemed to imply that this made me a Phillies fan. Absolutely not true, will always remain a Nationals fan. But I am also a huge baseball fan, and to have been lucky enough to be in attendance for a great accomplishment like this was really special. I am a Nationals fan, but also a big baseball fan in general. Even that night in Miami, when Halladay came to the mound to start the 9th inning, Marlins fans were standing up and cheering for him. Baseball history is filled with great accomplishments and great moments, and I wish all baseball fans could be lucky enough to be in attendance for memorable moments in the history of the game.
