Sounds like mom & co decided late yesterday to go full steam overnight to a relatively sheltered stream about 50 miles up the Hudson. They have two anchors down and are preparing to weather it out. I feel a lot better about this as there is really no chance of significant surge that far inland, though the wind might get a bit exciting. That said, the most recent reports are starting to indicate that the eye is becoming very disorganised, so it might just turn into a big hot wet mess that doesn't do a whole lot of damage. I think we are certainly going to get a deluge here around DC in any event, but it would be nice if we didn't have to worry about thousands of downed trees and all of the attendant drama.
