Honestly, I'd have no problem with that other than JZimm, as much as I'd hate to see Balester (and presumably you) go somewhere else.
Getting worth changes the whole thought process of the players with a no trade clause.

Holy crap!  Just got the news.  And ha ha to all of those ugly Philly chicks with their acne scars covered with troweled-on makeup and home-made "Mrs Werth" t-shirts.

But, how well do they hit right handers?  If they him them well, it doesn't matter.

Agreed. That's not the worry. The worry is that this is the end of the serious moves.

Give Cliff Lee his big $$$! Trade for Grienke and get Carlos Pena at 1B.... the Nats will be in the Playoffs in 2012 and go .500 in 2011.
Let Bally close!

Haha we just in Georgetown and there were a couple of girls having a big meal at 3pm clearly because they had just woken up after clubbing. They were overdressed and underdressed at the same time and still had their wristbands on. I bet they have Mrs Werth shirts, now they can just change team alliance.

Probably the end of the big $ free agent signings.  We still have to build a bench, but I still think there will be one more significant transaction, most likely a trade.

Anther key to this signing is that it takes another bat out of the Phillies lineup. A Hard one to replace. He is a clutch hitter! Unfortunately Dunn wasn't as much.

greinke said he would consider waiving his no trade clause for the Yankees.  I assume if he would only consider for them, he probably wouldnt waive it for us.

I think he only has a partial no-trade clause. We may not have been on the list he gave at the start of the season. I can't say for sure though.

oh and I love the fact that we signed Werth. Obviously, Rizzo knows he won't produce in the last half of the contract like he will in the first half. He gave what he had to to get him here. Also, Rizzo said, "We are not done." There's more to come! Good day for the Nats!

It was right to change the title.  We already have a Lerners ownership thread, the LANC-LAC crap should go there.  This should be for what the Werth signing means to the team.

Getting Worth means Cliff Lee, Grienke, Brandon Webb,Carlos Pena, possible Carl Crawford to the Nats! While giving up Balester, Desmond, Stammen, J Zimm in a combo deal.
